Melvin Laird, secretary of defense, is questioned by four wives of American prisoners-of-war in Vietnam. Laird told the wives that American presence in Vietnam will continue until Hanoi releases all prisoners of war and accounts for the missing in action. He was in Fort Hood, Texas for joint Army-Air Force maneuver Monday. The wives are (from left) Mary Warren, Gertha Evans, Ross Terry and Elvie M. Deitsch.
