Description
Virginia H. Knauer, President Nixon's adviser on consumer affairs, talks with Representative John S. Monagan, D-CT, chairman of the House subcommittee on government operations in Washington today. Mrs. Knauer told the group, holding hearings on consumer meat prices, that some meat prices began coming down in August and the administration hopes "this is a trend that will continue." She added that housewives' meat boycotts have probably played "a very small part" in helping to bring prices down in some areas.
