1962 Press Photo Air National Guard jet pilot Captain Kalthoff with newsmen

Captain Victor C. Kalthoff, 36, of Warren, Michigan, the pilot who bailed out of his Air National Guard jet fighter plane yesterday, chats with newsmen after his narrow escape. Kalthoff's abandoned plane crashed into a house near the Greater Pittsburgh Airport. At the time of the crash the house was occupied by two elderly women, Mrs. Elizabeth Kaiser, 51, and a visitor, Mrs. Marie Lind, 68. Neither women were seriously injured.
