Former Army nuclear weapons specialist George John Gessner, 29, was released from federal penitentiary today after an admission on which he was convicted of transmitting atomic data to the Russians was ruled inadmissible. The government today dropped charges against him, saying it had insufficient evidence to retry Gessner.
