1961 Press Photo Clear, flexible potting compound absorbs shock & vibrations

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
This clear, flexible silicone potting compound, developed by General Electric, has demonstrated its effectiveness in protecting missile and space vehicle electronic components from shock forces up to 30 G's. Know as LTV-602, the material cures from an easily pour-able liquid to a flexible solid at low temperatures that will not adversely affect delicate electronic components that are embedded within it.

Photo is dated 1961.

Photo measures 10.25 x 8 inches.
