1967 Press Photo Rep. Paul Findley shows old and new parts for M16 rifle

Rep. Paul Findley, R-IL, shows old and new parts for M16 rifle in his House office today. He holds old buffer, left, and cut-away model of new buffer: chamber, back end of barrel on table, is to be chrome-plated. Troops in Vietnam have complained of malfunctions with the weapon. Findley told he House there should be no troop buildup until all allied forces in Vietnam are fully equipped with the improved M16 rifle.
