Election of J. Natalicio Gonzalex (above), Paraguayan minister of Finance, as President of Paraguay in the February, 1948, elections seems assured. He is nominee of the Colorado Party, only political party active since the recent civil war. In Asuncion last night, President Higinio Morinigo said he would not be a candidate to succeed himself and would support Gonzalez.
