Robert Finch, former presidential counselor who left the Nixon administration in 1972, tells a news conference in his home in San Marino, California, Friday he will seek the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate in 1976 to set up a "classic confrontation between myself and" liberal Democrat John V. Tunney. He said he didn't this his association with former President Richard M. Nixon would be a handicap.
