Description
Lt. Colonel Ambrose Patrick Genda, 39, is shown in his New York apartment after a sudden turn in Sierra Leone's week-long power struggle boosted him to head of his country's military junta. A year ago, Genda was retired as deputy commander of the armed forces and sent to New York as second secretary of the United Nations mission because of a dispute with some of the country's leaders. Some of these leaders were under arrest Saturday.

Photo is dated 1967.

Photo measures 8 x 8.25 inches.
