Description
Patrick Lyndon Nugent was christened in ceremony officiated by Father William Keifer at Stonewall, Texas. Lynda Bird and Joseph Batson acted as proxy godparents for Pat Nugent's brother and sister-in-law who, because they were having a baby of their own, couldn't attend. Later, as he watched the infant passed among the guests, the President was overheard to complain in wryly humorous vein, "This is unconstitutional. It's cruel and inhuman treatment."
