1968 Press Photo Corporal in Japanese Army Bunzo Minoaga with wife & children

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Minoaga is shown with his wife and children in their modest home in a working-class district of modern Tokyo. The present, gently humdrum life of Bunzo Minoaga, shown with his wife and children in their home in a working class district of Tokyo, gives no hint of his strange past. A corporal in the Japanese Army in World War II, he lived in Guam's jungles for 16 years after the war ended, evading capture because he thought it would disgrace his family.

Photo is dated 1968.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.
