1979 Press Photo John McCoy shows shirt that can be unbuttoned and rolled up

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
Meet the McCoy, the John McCoy of neo structure in men's suits and jackets. There is something very real and utilitarian about the work of the young menswear stylist. He prefers the appellation stylist to designer. "Designing," he says, "implies something drawing boardish and arty and rather than down to earth." The buttons on his coat sleeves really unbutton so that the sleeves can be rolled up, points out pragmatic designer John McCoy.

Photo is dated 1979.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.
