Participants in Recognition Day ceremonies of the Community Volunteer Service at the Jesuit High School Auditorium were (from left) Mrs. Margaret Petry, who gave 1,732 hours at the Veterans Administration Hospital; Mrs. Rudolph H. Waldo, who has served about 24,000 hours with the Red Cross in 24 years as production manager, and Mrs. J. Garlic Schoen, Recognition Day chairman. A small army of nearly 600 citizen volunteers, who gave a collective total of 138,000 hours in 1963 to their city, received glitteringE recognition Tuesday.
