O'Dell Jr., center, and Frank Newton, chief engineer, aboard the SS Zoella Lykes yesterday. The President's Medal of the National Safety Council has been awarded to Frank Newton, chief engineer of the SS Zoella Lykes, for saving the life in 1961 of a member of his crew, Francis H. Wilson.
