Awards were received by the above individuals from the Freedom Foundation at ceremonies Wednesday at A.D. Crossman School. From left are (front row) Miss Donna Alleman, who accepted award to Kilo-Co. Junior Achievement, Louisiana Power and Light Company for economic education program; Miss Kim St. Germaine, fifth grade student who accepted for A.D. Crossman School; Larry Guerin, who accepted for Lykes Brothers Steamship Company, Inc.; Daniel Merdes, Tulane University student, for his essay written when a student at F. T. Nicholis Senior High School; (back row) Floyd E. Gautreaux, Lafayette, for his letter-to-the-editor; Paul Hoerske, professor of Nicholls High School, who accepted award for an editorial in school journal, and Eldon Pletcher, cartoonist of The Times-Picayune, who accepted an award for a cartoon appearing in the newspaper.
