1973 Press Photo Hare Krishna member on Bourbon St, New Orleans, talks to people

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
A member of the Hare Krishna religious order "works" Bourbon Street, which means selling religious supplies to passers-by. The Hare Krishna and the Processeans contend that "street work" is "part of our way of living." They say they do no mean to "hassle" or annoy pedestrians.
