Description
Essary warns on Willkie J. Fred Essary, Washington correspondent for the Tribune and The Item and dean of the national capital's newsmen, warned against counting Wendell L. Willkie, Republican presidential candidate out of the race too prematurely in a speech on "A Non-Partisan Glance at the Campaign" at the Association of Commerce Members' Council luncheon at La Louisiane yesterday. "I do not think the third term issue will be a decisive issue," he continued. "I think many thousands will vote against Roosevelt for one reason or another but will give the third term as an alibi. My personal belief is that one term is too many for a bad president and that three terms are not too many for a good president." New Orleans
