Planting a river birch tree are participants in Friday's program at Jackson Barracks observing the Arbor Day Centennial. The Federated Council of New Orleans Garden Clubs, Incorporated donated 63 trees and shrubs to the barracks. From left are Mrs. N.M. Bennett, District One representative of the Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Incorporated, which gave 35 trees; Mrs. Vincent J. Palmintier, council chairman; Lieutenant General David Wade, adjutant general of Louisiana, who formally accepted the trees, and Mrs. Roland E. Cleutat, president, Civic Beautification Association, which gave 25 trees. New Orleans
