An award of $2,811 is presented to Tulane University School of Speech and Hearing by Joseph M. Carriere, center, president of the Louisiana Division of the American Cancer Society. Accepting the award on behalf of the university is Dr. Walter Unglaub, left, and Dr. Jeanette Laguaite. Function of the university center is to teach the laryngectomee--those who as a result of cancer or other disease have had the larynx removed---to breathe and speak again.
