Description
Presiding at official dedication ceremonies of the newly compelted $325,000 Navy Exchange building at Callender Field, is Captain W.F. Chaires (center), commanding officer at Callender. From left are Rep. F. Edward Hebert; Rear Admiral Alexander C. Husband, Chief of the Bureau of Yards and Docks; Captain Chairs; Woodrow M. Brown, director, Gulf Division, Bureau of Yards and Ships, and Chief Warrant Officer John H. Boyce, Navy exchange officer. The first dedication, that of a chapel, was at 10 a.m. It was formerly the Camp Leroy Johnson chapel building, which was dismantled and transported to the station before the camp closed in 1964.

Photo is dated 1966.
