Description
Wily Leander H. Perez, in a series of parliamentary maneuvers, Saturday staved off an attempt in the Louisiana State Democratic Central Committee to rescind his unpledged presidential electors plan. The only affirmative action of the stormy session marked by applause for Perez victories by a large crowd of spectators was the motion to adjourn and the earlier unchallenged election of J. Marshall Brown of New Orleans as the new national committeeman. Brown succeeds Harry V. Booth of Shreveport who submitted his resignation by telegram.

Photo is dated 1964.

Photo measures 8 x 10 inches.
