Description
Harold Snider examines the statue of L.M. Gottschalk at the Historic New Orleans Collection. Snider is blind and has been hired by the Smithsonian Institution's new National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., to coordinate programs there for the handicapped. He was in New Orleans on a bet made by a Historic New Orleans Collections official who said there wasn't anything "a historical institution in a complex like ours" could do to provide better access for the blind.

Photo is dated 1977.

Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches.
