Examining Antique Firemarks, on display at the Insurance Club of New Orleans,a re these three recently elected officers of the club. Left to right are Alvin Shepherd, president; Parker A. Wiggins, first vice-president; and Milton E. Moore, second vice-president. In the early days of insurance, volunteer fire companies in most cases would combat fires only on home and buildings displaying firemarks which signified that the establishment was insured.
