Description
Louisiana Tuberculosis Association-Luna Hayes and Other Leaders. At a special 1962 Christmas Seal Campaign kick-off meeting here this week, Louisiana Tuberculosis Association leaders marked the Opening Day, November 13th, with a celebrating including a special cake made in the shape of the official Red Double-Barred Cross, registered symbol of the voluntary agency. Shown above at the cake-cutting ceremony are, left to right, Mrs. Luna Hayes, Executive Director of the Calcasieu-Cameron affiliate of the Louisiana Tuberculosis Association; Dr. Clay A. Waggenspack, President of the L.T.A.; Mrs. J.C. Chargois, State TB board member from Lafayette. The event was especially significant for the two ladies in that they were recently honored by the L.T.A. for exceptional service in helping the State Board of Health plead its case for funds for TB drugs for Louisiana outpatients. The 1962 Christmas Seal Campaign, sole source of income for the LTA and its local associations, will run through December.
