Winners of Xavier University's highest honors, Alfred M. Garibaldi (left) and Mary C. Morrell, both of New Orleans, receive the congratulations of Sister M. Maris Stella, S.B.S., university president, at Tuesday's Honors Convocation. - Highest Xavier University honors went to Miss Mary C. Morrell and Miss Alfreda M. Garibaldi, both New Orleanians and education majors in the graduating class, at the Honors Convocation held Tuesday. Miss Morrell received the Reverend Mother M. Katherine Drexel award for "the most outstanding spirit of service and cooperation in the varied interests in the varied interests of the University." Miss Morrell also received the Louis Israel Award for outstanding work in her own parish, membership in Kappa Gamma Pi National Scholastic Honor Society, and the Gold Key for three years' service on the Student Council. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Reynard Morrell of 3118 N. Roman.
