Description
John W. Beretta, center, who lives near President Lyndon B. Johnson's Texas ranch, tells F.W. Zurburg of Lafayette, left, and Arnold Henny of Portland, Oregon, that the President's neighbors don't consider him a fast driver. The three are attending a state engineering examiners' meeting at the Monteleone Hotel. President Lyndon B. Johnson doesn't drive fast. And Harry S. Truman, although he doesn't show it, worries over touchy matters such as current stories about General Douglas MacArthur. So say the president-elect and president of the National Council of State Boards of Engineering Examiners. The president-elect, John W. Baretta of San Antonio, Texas lives 20 miles from Johnson's ranch. And W.M. Spann of Kansas City, Missouri, the council president, is a long-time friend of Truman's.
