Democrat Richardson Dilworth, locked in a furious personal feud with his Republican opponent for the Pennsylvania governorship, Representative William Scranton, flays him like this: "He is a delicate flower who lacks the guts to take a stand on the big issues. He's been pictured as Pennsylvania's Rockefeller. But I don't think he lives up to his billing. He's more like a deluded Nixon. Scranton described as "A disarming air of boyishness."
