Some time in the near future, in the shadow of the Mississippi River bridge structure, work will commence on the first public cargo wharf on the West Bank. Just 1000 feet upstream from the new bridge, the wharf will be situated on the Gretna waterfront. And according to Colonel Marcel Gareaud, engineering consultant for the Port of New Orleans, it will be a most unique structure. The Port Record editor, George Rhode III wrote article on new facility for the Port.
