1977 Press Photo 55-year-old retiree Cecil J. Sagona holds the Army medal

Cecil J. Sagona - The postman knocked on the door at 66 Brittany Drive in Kenner at 3 pm November 18 and gave a small package to Cecil J. Sagona. Mildly curious, Sagona noted the package was sent to him by the U.S. Army Support Activity, 2800 S. 20th Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. When the 55-year-old retiree opened the package, former Pfc. Sagona, Serial No. 38 373 957, saw that the Army medal via Philadelphia at the direction of the Army Records Center in St. Louis Mo., 33 years late, the former rifleman replied: "I started crying. Why? I don't know. I was lucky I didn't get killed out there, if you want to know the truth."
