Sacramento Street After Earthquake, San Francisco. Nob Hill was laid low, as this photograph shows. The photo was taken on Nob Hill, San Francisco, in 1906 and documents some of the damage along Sacramento Street caused by the earthquake on April 18. Tents at right give temporary shelter to residents left homeless. Still standing in the background are the Flood Mansion and the larger building behind it, The Fairmont Hotel. The temblor touched 8.3 on the Richter scale.

Photo is dated 1906.
