A. Clayton James, State Bank Commissioner of Louisiana, recently attended a three-day conference in Washington with officials from 12 other state banking departments. The conference was hosted by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, a Federal agency which insures bank deposits and supervises many of the nation's insured banks. The meeting was designed for top-level discussion of banking supervisory matters of mutual interest to state and national officials. At a reception given by FDIC in honor of the state officials, Jr. James, in the center, chats with K.A. Randall, left, Chairman of FDIC.
