Crew members of HMNS Borculo salute the Netherlands flag while the Algiers Naval Station band plays the Netherlands National Anthem. Just before the flag raising ceremony Commander L.E.H. Reeser, RNN, signed the transfer certificate for the Netherlands government, officially receiving the ship from Captain Francis H. Gardner, commanding officer of the Algiers Naval Station, who represented the U.S. Navy. HMNS Borculo is the third minesweeper to be transferred to the Netherlands government in New Orleans this year under the Mutual Defense Assistance Program.
