1973 Press Photo Workers work on flood control along Mississippi River

Description
The animals in the Alexandria, Monroe and Ferriday areas are hardest hit by the flooding. Meanwhile, in New Orleans the Mississippi River rose above the flood stage with a reading of 17.3 feet.
