Mississippi River - Although flooding in the lower Mississippi Valley is not expected to even approach the highest water marks of 1923, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is continually working to maintain levee strength. Here workmen drive sheet piling as a hedge against a possible flood condition at Louisiana Avenue. Other work is being done in the vicinity of Harahan.
