Description
Cement replicas of prehistoric animals in Los Angeles Park Lake. Huge mammoths with great curved tusks and ferocious saber-tooth tigers once roamed over what is now busy Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles. Pre-historic hunters in animal skins once stalked wolves, birds and other prey there. Only a few hundreds feet from where the bustling thoroughfare is now, there was an inviting pool of water. But it covered a pit of soft tar that proved to be a death trap for people and animals that came to drink and find their prey.

Photo is dated 1970.

Photo measures 10.25 x 8.25 inches.
