The oft-delayed International Trade Mart Complex proposed at the foot of Canal Street will be under construction about July 1 next year if Orleans parish property owners approve a land purchase this month, a Dock Board official said today. Colonel William H. Lewis, Dock Board planning coordinator, said it will be several months before city, state and private interest can complete detailed plans for the mart.
