Description
A group of West Bank officials recall when the house in the water was high and dry on the beach at the western end of Grand Isle. - In listing plans to upgrade the larger eastern Grand Isle State Park, officials noted the smaller western part of the park is being washed away into the Gulf of Mexico. Projections into the future of the park, including the building of a marine life exhibit, a bath house and facilities for camping and parking, along with adequate restroom facilities, were described by Lamar Gibson, director of the Louisiana State Parks and Recreation Commission.
