1976 Press Photo Wicker furniture made by Mike Knowles of Golden Age Antiques

Description
The small chest is constructed of the tortoise shell bamboo combined with the grass cloth. Brass pulls add elegance to this piece fashioned after Oriental designs. A small magazine rack of bamboo and woven cane is pictured in front of the chest. The chair is a fine example of the rattan reed in its own natural dark brown color. Accompanying the chair is a small stool made entirely of bamboo in a mixture of the light yellow and tortoise shell. It's almost a must to include a "wicker piece or two" in today's lighthearted eclectic decorating style. Beside a fall-front Queen Anne desk its rich walnut finish rubbed to a mellow glow, set a delicately-woven little wicker chair, sprayed with coats of canary yellow paint. Soften the starkness of a modern room by adding a Victorian reed music stand with its intricate patterns of curling lattice-work and raffia knobs.
