Governor Edwin Edwards signs an official statewide proclamation naming the week of March 6-12 Bank Week in Louisiana. The act recognizes the important economic and social contribution of the state's banking industry. Witnessing the signing at the Governor's Mansion are officials of the Louisiana Bankers Association (LBA) which is sponsoring the statewide observance. From left are LBA President Donald L. Delcambre, State National Bank of New Iberia; LBA Public Relations Committee Chairman Tom Sawyer, City National Bank of Baton Rouge; LBA Treasurer George Lensing, Bank of Dixie of Lake Providence; and LBA Immediate Past President Jake Acklin, Planters Bank of Haynesville.
