Hermann Deutsch, columnist for the State-Item, receives certificate of appreciation for news coverage from Bernard Meldrum of the Greater New Orleans Section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. Benefits to be gained from space exploration are so many and varied as to defy the imagination, the technical director of the Marshall Space Flight Center said here. Dr. Elberhard F.M. Rees, in an address last night to the Greater New Orleans Section of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, predicted that space science will one day provide the weapons to wipe out cancer.
