A fire of unknown origin at 40 East 7th Street New York City early February 17 caused the death of six persons with two others unaccounted for. Three alarms were turned in which brought fire companies from all parts of the city. Many heroic rescues were affected and pictured above are a few who escaped the hands of death. Mrs Blanche Cowan Mrs Esther Nemeth and Olga Nemeth Lucille Cowan Margaret Nemth Robert Nemth and Stephen Horowitz.
