Thousands of unseen spectators saw this scene as mechanics of the Ranger Engine Division of the Fairchild Engine & Airplane Corp assembled an engine before the television camera for the first time in television history. Here the mechanics are at work on the final assembly of the engine, an in-line, air-cooled motor which is used in the Army's PT19 trainers.
