1946 Press Photo New York Dog learning to walk on a leash in NYC - neny13578

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
There are no bad dogs, only poorly trained dogs. Pooches who catapult their owners down stairways and drag them from pillar to post have never been trained to heel properly. Dogs should be trained to walk at the masters leff, shoulders parallel to the masters leg. This is taught by jerking on the leash and uttering a sharp No each time the dog tries to break away. Repetition and consistency are the basis of all training

Photo is dated 1946.

Photo measures 7 x 9 inches.
