PROSECUTION FOR ASSAULT WILL BE SOUGHT AGAINST AT LEAST EIGHT POLICEMEN ACCUSED OF HAVING TAKEN PART IN AN UNPROVOKED ATTACK ON STRIKING SEAMEN IN NEW YORK, MAY 11. THE MOST SERIOUS INCIDENT OF THE TWO MONTHS' STRIKE HAD ITS INCEPTION WHEN STRIKERS PICKETED IN AN EFFORT TO PERSUAFE THE CREW OF THE VIRGINIA TO JOIN THE WALKOUT. WHEN POLICE ARRICED VIOLENCE BROKE OUT AND 250 STRIKES PICKETS WERE ARRESTED. THIS PHOTO SHOWS A GROUP OF STRIKING SEAMEN AS THEY STAKED A DEMONSTRATION AT CITY HALL, MAY 12.
