Sarah Ann Wharton, 7 months old responds to the expert ministrations of Pvt. George E. Schumacher, Hqs Co, USATCA, Fort Knox's first male baby sitter.. He was recently registered with the Civilian Personnel Section of the post. Happy Baby Sitter- Private George E. Schumacher of Akron, O., is the only male baby sitter registered at For Knox, Ky. His perception, learned early as the uncle of nine, is to have a sense of humor and never take yourself seriously. It works. He's never known a real problem child, he claims. Baby-Sitting Soldier Says Psychology, Salesmanship Fort Knox, Ky.-The only registered mae baby sitter here, experienced since the age of 12 because he has nine nephews and nieces, attributes his success to psychology and salesmanship. Private George A. Schumacher of (1386 W. Exchange St.) Akron, O., has three rules, which must be golden as he claims he has never come across a real problem child: "Have a sense of humor. Never take yourself seriously. Divert their attention until you can get them to follow your directions." For Knox's first "Mr. Belvedere" also finds it useful to keep an eye on the older brother. "He sometimes tries to be difficult just to impress the younger one." Schumacher is a 1956 graduate of the University of Akron's Business Administration course who resumed his "pin money" profession when he entered the Army. He finds the novelty of a male baby sitter a big help. "It impresses the children."
