1943 Press Photo Elliot Roosevelt receives Flying Cross from James Doolittle

Major General James Doolittle who lead the Tokyo bombing raid and is now chief of all air operations in North Africa, pins the Distinguished Flying Cross on Lt. Col. Elliot Roosevelt, of the Marine Corps. The president's son got the decoration for photographic work from Reconnaissance planes over enemy territory.

Photo is dated 1943.
