Providence RI National Guardsmen called in to help city officials as the hurricane struck the 2nd largest city in New England, righting a lifeboat which was smashed against a store front, far from the water front by the tidal wave which followed the death dealing hurricane.Large sections of city were under several feet of water Sept 22.
