1953 Press Photo Capt James Carson, One of 10 Flyers Taking Part in Bendix Event

Capt James S Carson, 28, of El Centro, CA, representing the Air Research and Development Command, will be one of 10 fliers taking part in 1953 Bendix Trophy cross-country speed event, 22 year old air classic sponsored by the Bendix Aviation Corp. Event will be the feature of National Aircraft Show at Dayton, Ohio. Carson, flying a F-86F Sabre Jet, will take off with other contestants from Edwards Air Force Base in Muroc Dry Lake, CA, and win 1,900 miles eastward to Dayton Municipal Airport.
