Edward J. Corsi, consultant on refugee problems to State Secretary John Foster Dulles, has been accused of having been associated with two "Communist organizations." The accusation was made by Representative Francis Walter (Democrat, Pennsylvania) during a hearing of the House Immigration subcommittee. Walter's charge followed a statement by Representative Emanuel Collar (Democrat, New York) that he had a "suspicion" that State Department Security Officer Scott McLeod is being "eased out" and Corsi is being "eased" his post. Collar said he believed Corsi's appointment would be a big improvement. At that point, Walter said Collar's statement "disturbed" him and then made his charges. Corsi (left) and McLeod (right) are shown with State Secretary Dulles after the former's appointment to his present post last December.
