Photo shows Miss Dorothy Williams, Festival Queen buying a royal bouquet from Jake Ploocher, who as a Hollander immigrant, was at work in the Festival Flower Mart. This is a scene from the Annual Tulip Festival, in which Washington honors the Dutch Colonists who settled nearby and with their flowers farms transformed the bogs into colorful and beautiful gardens.

Photo is dated 1938.
